Being a labour law researcher
I have been going through pains for being a full time and dedicated environmental and biodiversity law researcher in India. But being a labour law researcher, I think is the most painful. I recently starting following Sudha Bharadwaj in twitter to see that even her harmless tweets are wrapped in precautionary warnings of having sensitive content. I do not know how they are surviving. My dreams of revolution is increasingly becoming elusive as the smog covers every bit of my sense s disabling me to locate the invisible hands of the drivers of the market economy. But them won't these mammoth expressions of environment trickle down to the big (and the only) drivers of the market? As flights are being cancelled, I hope the capitalists will realise that without respecting the rights of the fellows cleaning their boots and the workmen stitching their expensive suits, they cannot just sustain their crazy ways of life charting daily flights for business and vacation. Yes, I have lost a bit of hope in revolution. But see when simple tweets are censored: when massive workers' and farmers' protest are ignored by the media which make and break human mind;how can one not be disheartened? The worst is the sheer injustice of making the suffering of poor. The life of powerless people climbing up and down the packed buses, pushed and pulled into injustices making the victims the perpetrators of crimes..but why cannot the winners not feel the blood on our hands?
